Gavin is a founder member of Substance and the companys Director of Operations. He previously worked as a lecturer and researcher at a number of UK universities. He leads various projects for Substance as well as heading up the development of the Substance Project Reporting System (SPRS) and its successor Views. 

Gavin is a season ticket holder at Stoke City Football Club.
