Imogen Slater

Imogen is a committed and sensitive researcher with wide-ranging experience including that in: media, arts, sports, youth, education, work, community, and health. She is motivated by making researched connections between grass roots practice, and policy/funding strategies and strategists and enjoys utilising her skills and experience, as well as finding learning and new challenges exciting. Additional, Imogen is employed by Centre of Urban and Community Research, Goldsmith’s College London, where her various research projects have included: Evaluation of the PVE Programme 2009 & Evaluation of Southwark Muslim Parents Forum 2008, Southwark Council Beyond the Numbers Game 06-07. National case study research arguing the case for qualitative evaluation of outcomes from participatory media projects, and developing an online, tailored, self evaluative toolkit. Positive Futures National Case Study Research 04-06. A national case study research project for the Home Office in partnership with Sheffield Hallam and MMU. It involved intensive participative action research in two London areas, looking at specific projects using sports and other activities as engagement tools, and their efficacy in making positive interventions in the lives of young people. Kickstart ‘Tackling Knife Culture Amongst Young People’ Evaluation, 2007. Pilot research assessing impact of educational programme designed to raise awareness of weapons use and related issues. Evaluation of the Arches Youth Project 2004 Looking at the work of the project, local views, and future potential. Evaluation of the Cross River Learning Partnership Next Stages Project 2004 Intended to review progress to date of the educational delivery across four London Boroughs, raise issues and concerns, record achievements, and assist in informing the planning and delivery in the future.. Gender in Construction Research Project 2003 Profiling experiences of women working in the trades, and considering both their motivations and the barriers they face.
