Matthew Brown

A former editor of the Commission for Racial Equality’s Connections magazine and Charter88’s Citizen, he has contributed regularly to many publications including the Times Education Supplement, When Saturday Comes and VS magazine, as well as The Guardian and New Statesman. He has been writing about national and international sport for 20 years, especially athletics which he has covered at World Championships and Olympic Games since 1991. He has also written extensively about social issues surrounding football, covered disability sport at three Paralympic Games, and currently writes features about British rowing. He is media consultant to the London Marathon and secretary of his local football club, Sporting Hackney FC.
